Pest Control and Exterminator Service in Perkasie, PA

When the East Branch Perkiomen Creek runs high in spring, the low ground around Lenape Park stays wet for weeks, and that water sets the tone for pest control in Perkasie. No Bugs Exterminator serves this Pennridge-area borough from Media, a longer drive of about 65 minutes (41 miles) that we plan ahead. Mosquitoes along the creek, termites in damp soil and mice in 1970s split-levels account for most of the Perkasie calls we take each year.

Lenape Park Floodplain and 1972 Neighborhoods

The creek's floodplain and the park's wet areas hold standing water into summer, giving mosquitoes a long season on nearby streets. The same damp soil helps termites reach foundations.

Census (ACS) estimates put the median home at 1972, with older houses near the center of town and about 32% rented. Split-levels of that era let mice in under garage-level doors.

Lenape Park is a long, mostly natural greenway, and the woods, meadows and trails along the creek reach the back fences of many borough streets. Deer use that corridor to move between Perkasie and Sellersville, so blacklegged ticks are a real concern for families who walk the park or let children play at the yard's edge. Tree cover there also keeps leaf litter deep and damp under the canopy, which shelters ticks and the mice that carry them through winter.

The borough's older core, built up around the rail line, has frame and brick houses with stone cellars and front porches, while the 1970s neighborhoods on the hills have split-levels and bi-levels with lower-level family rooms partly below grade. Those lower rooms run damp, inviting centipedes, camel crickets and silverfish. About a third of households rent, often in apartments carved from older houses, where cockroaches and bed bugs spread through shared basements and stairwells.

Perkasie, Sellersville and the East Branch Perkiomen

Perkasie and Sellersville sit on either side of Lenape Park along the creek, both in the Pennridge School District. We also serve Silverdale and East Rockhill Township nearby. The East Branch Perkiomen Creek flows through Lenape Park between Perkasie and Sellersville, and the relocated South Perkasie Covered Bridge now stands in the park, one of the borough's best-known sights. Menlo Park, near downtown, is home to a restored carousel. Pennridge High School sits in Perkasie, serving the borough and surrounding townships in the Pennridge School District, and Route 309 passes just west on its way toward Quakertown. Compact downtown blocks, a large share of rentals and hillside split-levels above a wooded floodplain give Perkasie a varied list of calls: mosquito and tick treatments near the park, mouse sealing at garage-level doors, termite checks in damp soil and roach or bed bug work in divided houses.

Questions from Perkasie homeowners

When should Perkasie homeowners near the creek start mosquito treatments?

Late May works for most yards near the East Branch, once floodplain pools warm and the first broods hatch. Treatments repeat through summer because new mosquitoes keep arriving from wet ground. Dumping containers weekly and clearing gutters makes each treatment more effective.

Can spring flooding bring termites closer to my house?

Flooding doesn't carry termites, but wet soil around a foundation helps them forage near the surface, and water-damaged wood is easier to eat. After a wet spring, check basement walls and porch steps for mud tubes. Our termite control team inspects for free.
