Pest Control and Exterminator Service in Delaware County, PA

Delaware County is home turf for us. No Bugs Exterminator is a small, family-run business based in Media, the county seat, providing pest control in Delaware County, PA, for homes and businesses from the Philadelphia line to the Chester County border. Delco is really three pest markets. A 1920s rowhome near 69th Street, a split-level off Baltimore Pike and a house backing onto Ridley Creek State Park draw different pests, though Census (ACS) estimates put the county median home at 1957 and renters at 30 percent.

City-Line Rowhomes, Baltimore Pike Suburbs, Wooded Creek Townships

The boroughs nearest Philadelphia are the oldest and densest: Census (ACS) estimates put the median build year at 1943 in Lansdowne and 1948 in Upper Darby Township. Rowhomes share party walls and pipe chases, so German cockroaches, mice and bed bugs cross between units without going outdoors. Renter shares near 60 percent in Chester and 50 percent in Darby bring frequent move-ins and secondhand furniture.

The Route 1 and Baltimore Pike middle, through Springfield, Marple and Middletown, is post-war suburb: Cape Cods, ranches and split-levels built from about 1955 to 1977. Termites in sill plates and porch slabs, carpenter ants in damp trim, and fall mice at garage doors make up most calls; Springfield Mall and Granite Run add food-service accounts.

West of Media, Edgmont, Thornbury and Chadds Ford have big lots and wooded stream valleys. Deer from Ridley Creek State Park and the Brandywine valley carry blacklegged ticks to back lawns, and Crum, Ridley and Chester creeks breed mosquitoes all summer. The whole county lies in a moderate-to-heavy termite zone and the PDA spotted lanternfly quarantine. Then October frosts push mice, stink bugs and boxelder bugs indoors countywide.

Delco Waterways, Campuses and School Rules We Plan Around

We take calls in all 49 municipalities, from the blocks around 69th Street Terminal to riverfront Marcus Hook, the Swarthmore, Widener, Neumann and Villanova campuses, and open land near Chadds Ford. Near the John Heinz refuge at Tinicum we keep treatments off the water, and public school work follows Pennsylvania Act 35 of 2002, which requires integrated pest management plans and notice to parents and staff. Each anchor brings its own calls. Philadelphia International Airport sits partly in Tinicum Township, and its hotels and cargo buildings, like the river industry from Eddystone to Marcus Hook, see Norway rats along docks and rail sidings. Campus rentals near Widener and Villanova turn over every August, a classic bed bug window. The wooded ground of Tyler Arboretum and Ridley Creek State Park keeps ticks and field mice close to bordering houses.

Questions from Delaware County homeowners

Do you cover all of Delaware County or only the Media area?

All of it. We are based in Media, near the center of the county, and take jobs in every one of the 49 municipalities, from Yeadon at the city line to Thornbury in the west. Most addresses are roughly 5 to 25 minutes away, and we also cover Chester, Montgomery and Bucks counties and Philadelphia.

Why do eastern Delco rowhomes get more roaches and mice?

Shared walls are the main reason. In rowhomes built from the 1920s through the 1940s, pests travel through party walls, common attics and pipe chases, so a neighbor's problem can become yours. A mouse fits through a gap about the size of a dime, which is why we seal shared runs as well as treat.

Are ticks a real concern in western Delaware County?

Yes. Lots bordering Ridley Creek State Park or wooded stream valleys share ground with deer, which carry blacklegged ticks, the species that spreads Lyme disease; Pennsylvania reports some of the highest Lyme case counts in the U.S., per CDC data. We treat where lawn meets woods, leaf litter and stone walls.

Is the inspection free everywhere in the county?

Yes. We inspect at no charge whether the property is a Darby rowhome, a Springfield Cape Cod or a farmhouse near Chadds Ford. We check the building and pest evidence, explain what we found, and leave a written quote so you know the plan before anything is scheduled.
