Pest Control and Exterminator Service in West Whiteland Township, PA

Most of Exton's Route 100 and Route 30 retail actually sits in West Whiteland Township, alongside townhome communities and apartments built mostly in the last forty years. No Bugs Exterminator covers the township from Media, a drive of roughly 35 minutes (18 miles), and Thom's team inspects free of charge before quoting any work. Newer construction does not mean pest-free: ants, mice and the occasional bed bug problem in shared-wall housing keep us busy here, along with service for the shopping centers.

Exton Retail Corridors and 1980s Townhome Rows

West Whiteland has some of the newest housing we serve, with a 1989 median build year and about 37 percent renters in Census (ACS) estimates. Townhome rows share attics and utility runs, so a mouse problem rarely stays in one unit.

Retail pads and restaurants along Route 100 generate food waste that supports rodents and flies.

Townhome and apartment communities from the 1980s through the 2000s were built with stick framing, vinyl or fiber-cement siding and slab or poured basements, and their weak points are the penetrations: gas lines, hose bibs, dryer vents and the seam where a deck ledger meets the rim joist. Mulch refreshed every spring and piled against foundations keeps soil damp for subterranean termites and gives odorous house ants a nesting layer right at the slab joint.

The township lies in the Chester Valley, where open fields, stormwater basins and stream buffers still separate many developments. Field mice and voles build up in that grass through summer and head for garages after mowing, mosquitoes breed in the basins, and stink bugs and spotted lanternflies collect on the sunny walls of apartment buildings and retail centers each September.

Reaching Exton by US 202 and Route 100

We head through West Chester on US 202 north to the Route 100 interchange. Thom and his team inspect the unit or store, then provide a written quote.

Covering Exton, Lionville and the Uwchlan Line

The township includes much of Exton, and borders Uwchlan Township to the north, where Lionville homes face similar newer-construction pests. About 20,000 people live in West Whiteland. Beyond Exton itself, the township includes older crossroads such as Whitford, and Lincoln Highway (US 30), the US 30 Bypass and Route 100 divide it into commercial corridors and residential pockets. The Keystone Corridor rail line runs east to west through this stretch of the Chester Valley. Many renters live in large garden-apartment and townhome communities near Route 100, while owner-occupied singles cluster on the quieter roads. That split gives us two steady kinds of work: building-wide programs for property managers and retail centers, and termite, ant and mouse protection for townhome and single-family owners. Many addresses here read Exton, but permits and codes come from West Whiteland Township, and because Chester County sits inside PDA's spotted lanternfly quarantine, we also check for egg masses on late-fall visits.

Questions from West Whiteland Township homeowners

Why does my newer Exton townhome have mice?

Newer homes still have openings: gaps around gas lines and dryer vents, worn garage seals, and shared attic spaces between units. Mice need only a dime-sized hole. Fields and stormwater areas nearby give them a place to live until cold weather pushes them inside. We find and seal those openings rather than only setting traps.

Do you treat retail spaces along Route 100?

Yes. Retail and restaurant spaces along Route 100 and the Lincoln Highway need regular rodent stations, fly control near doors and dumpsters, and records for managers and inspectors. We schedule around store hours, and store managers receive a written quote after a free walkthrough.
