Is there an exterminator open on Sunday near you?
Yes. We keep the same 8-to-7 schedule all seven days, and weekend slots fill the way weekday ones do, so a Saturday or Sunday morning call gives you the most room for a visit that day.
Weekends are when many people actually find their pest problems. You're home long enough to notice scratching in the ceiling, you finally mow the back slope and disturb a ground nest, or you unpack from a trip and spot small dark stains on a pillowcase.

Weekend pest problems that shouldn't wait until Monday
Two more days makes a real difference for some pests. A late-summer yellow jacket colony can hold thousands of workers, and a female bed bug lays eggs almost every day.
- Yellow jackets working a backyard cookout or the trash and recycling bins
- A ground nest uncovered while mowing or edging the lawn
- Bed bugs found after a hotel stay, a family visit or a used furniture purchase
- Mice or rats heard in the walls during a quiet weekend at home
- A problem in a rental unit while the property office is closed
- Pests in a restaurant, shop or salon that's busiest on Saturday and Sunday
Why weekend chores uncover so many pest problems
Most weekend calls start with a chore. Trimming a hedge or mowing a back slope disturbs a hornet or yellow jacket nest, cleaning gutters turns up paper wasps under the eaves, and hauling boxes out of the attic or garage reveals shredded insulation and mouse droppings. Bringing in firewood from a pile against the house can carry carpenter ants and spiders inside. Opening the pool or clearing out the shed in spring often uncovers mice that spent the winter there.
Delaware County adds its own triggers. Weekend hikes in Ridley Creek State Park or along the Crum Woods bring ticks home on clothes and dogs, and secondhand furniture picked up on a Saturday can bring bed bugs with it. If the chore exposed droppings, a nest or chewed wiring, stop, take a photo from a safe distance and call before you dig further, since disturbing it again tends to make the job bigger.
What to do right now on a Saturday or Sunday
Dial 911 for a serious sting reaction
Trouble breathing, or swelling in the face or throat, calls for 911 before anything else.
Move the gathering, not the nest
If yellow jackets are working a picnic, cover food and drinks and shift the party away from the nest entrance instead of swatting.
Check luggage before it comes inside
After a trip, unpack on a hard floor away from beds and run clothes through a hot dryer cycle before they go back in drawers.
Close off rooms with rodent activity
Shut the door, roll a towel along the gap and keep pets out until the visit.
Renters: notify the landlord in writing
A text or email with photos creates a record, even if the office won't answer until Monday. This is general information, not legal advice.
Call when we open at 8
Weekend mornings leave the most room to schedule a visit for the same day.
Pennsylvania rules to know before a weekend treatment
Weekend work follows the same state rules as weekday work. Under the Pennsylvania Pesticide Control Act of 1973, the Department of Agriculture (PDA) licenses pest control businesses and certifies applicators, and 7 Pa. Code § 128.31 requires the business license number on service vehicles. You can ask for that number when you book or when the van arrives.
If a wild animal is part of the weekend problem, such as a bat in the living room or a raccoon in the attic, the Pennsylvania Game Commission’s rules apply rather than pesticide law, so describe it clearly on the call. And ask which products will be used; their labels set how long your family and pets should stay out of treated rooms.

How a weekend exterminator visit in Delaware County works
Call and describe
Tell us the pest, where it is and anyone at risk. We'll say on the call whether a visit today is possible.
Free inspection
On arrival we confirm what you're dealing with and find where it's coming from.
Written quote
You see the cost on paper before any treatment begins.
Treatment and weekend instructions
Once you approve, we handle the urgent part and explain what to do for the rest of the weekend.
Follow-up if needed
Bed bugs and rodents often need a return visit, which can be booked for any day of the week.

Weekend problems in rentals and shared buildings
Census (ACS) estimates show a large share of homes in eastern Delaware County are rented: about 60% in Chester, 55% in Yeadon, 50% in Darby and 43% in Upper Darby. When a tenant finds bed bugs or mice on a Saturday, the landlord's office is often closed, and in a twin or rowhome the neighbors may be affected too.
Leases usually say who handles routine pest control, and Pennsylvania courts recognize an implied warranty of habitability in residential leases. Tenants, landlords and property managers can all call us; we inspect, write up the quote and work with whoever approves the job. Our apartment pest control page covers multi-unit buildings in more detail. This is general information, not legal advice.
What shapes the cost of a Saturday or Sunday visit?
Weekend pricing isn't buried in fine print. Ask on the call how a Saturday or Sunday visit is priced for your job; once we've inspected, the full price is in writing before anything is treated. These details move the number:
Timing within the weekend matters as much as the day itself. A ground nest found Saturday morning is one treatment; the same nest after a second day of mowing and cookouts may have more entrances and angrier workers. Bed bugs found Sunday and inspected right away usually involve fewer rooms than bugs that spread for another week.
If a follow-up is needed, it goes on the written quote as its own visit, and it can land on any day that suits you.
- The kind of pest and how far it has spread
- Square footage, floors and the number of units involved
- Hard-to-reach spots such as soffits, crawlspaces or shared basements
- Follow-up visits the pest typically needs
- Optional prevention work like sealing gaps or adding monitors

Evenings and the 7 p.m. close
Our day ends at 7 p.m. on weekends just as on weekdays, and we don't run overnight visits. That's why we ask Sunday callers to reach us early; a call at 5 p.m. leaves little time left in the day.
If you discover a problem late on Saturday or Sunday, contain it and call at 8 the next morning. For stinging insects, follow the steps on our emergency wasp and hornet removal page; for a Sunday-night find in the mattress, our emergency bed bug treatment page explains what to do before bed.

Where we provide weekend exterminator
Weekend service matters most where homes share walls and many residents rent. In Yeadon, twins run up to Cobbs Creek along the city line; Darby has trolley-line rowhomes beside Darby Creek; Upper Darby is block after block of rowhomes; and Lansdowne has Victorian streets with a Census (ACS) median build year of 1943. A Saturday problem in any of them can involve more than one household.
- Media
Restaurants and shops along State Street are busiest on weekends, so a pest sighting on a Saturday cannot wait for Monday.
- Wayne
Lancaster Avenue shops and Victorian homes in this rail suburb see weekend calls for wasps on porches and pests in busy storefronts.
- Springfield Township (Delaware County)
Weekend yard work around post-war Cape Cods turns up ground nests and attic mice, often in the same Saturday.
- Ridley Township
Holmes, Secane and Milmont Park homes from around 1957 have backyards and sheds where weekend clean-outs uncover mouse nests.
- Woodlyn
Post-war houses off MacDade Boulevard, about a third of them rented, get Saturday calls when tenants find pests and the landlord is out.
- Norwood
Amosland Road homes between Darby and Muckinipattis creeks see mosquitoes, wasps and creek-bank rodents during weekend time outdoors.
- Folcroft
Homes next to the John Heinz refuge get weekend calls for stinging insects and mice when families spend time in yards near the marsh.
- Aldan
Pre-war homes near the Clifton-Aldan rail stop have attics and porches where weekend projects disturb paper wasps and mice.
- Upper Providence Township (Delaware County)
Trails near Ridley Creek State Park and wooded backyards mean weekend hikes and yard work often bring ticks and nests into view.
- Haverford Township
Havertown and Llanerch homes, many with a 1950s median age, see weekend gutter and attic chores reveal wasps and rodents.

Weekend Exterminator: common questions
Are you open on Saturdays and Sundays?
Yes. We're open both weekend days from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., matching our weekday hours. Weekend visits work like any other: a free inspection, a written quote and treatment after you approve. Saturday and Sunday mornings are the easiest time to land a visit on the same day.
Do weekend visits cost more?
Ask on the call and we'll give you a straight answer for your job. What we can promise is that nothing comes as a surprise: after the free inspection you get a written quote, and treatment starts only when you agree to it. The pest, how far it has spread and access weigh most.
What hours do you run in the evening?
We close at 7 p.m. every day, weekends included, and we don't offer late-night or overnight visits. The later you call, the less room is left in the day, so a 4 p.m. Sunday call has fewer options than an 8 a.m. one. If something starts after 7, keep it contained and phone us once we open.
Can a tenant call you directly on a weekend?
Yes. Tenants can call, describe the problem and book a free inspection, though the lease often decides who approves and pays for treatment. If your landlord's office is closed until Monday, send them photos in writing and let us know who should receive the quote. This is general information, not legal advice.
Is a yellow jacket nest at a party an emergency?
It is if guests have to walk past it or anyone is allergic. Yellow jacket colonies in southeastern Pennsylvania reach their largest size in late summer, when workers also get bold around sweet drinks and grilled food. Move the party, keep people away from the entrance hole and call us.
